Placement is more important than ball speed. In fact, many recreational players seem to return balls better if they have a lot of pace on them. They would rather return a hard hit ball driven right at them than a slow ball that requires them to run. Making your opponent run for every shot accomplishes two goals: (1) it increases the probability that they will make an error, and (2) it tires them out and weakens their resolve. So think about it !!!! Doesn't it make sense to stay within the boundaries of your game by hitting moderately paced strategic shots that stay in the court, rather than glamorous shots that land against the back fence.
