· Hit ball out in front of your body by using your shoulder to propel the racquet forward while stepping into the court and guiding your racquet through a 45 degree loop.
· Your weight should be loaded on your front foot at the moment the racquet contacts the ball.
· Maximize the time the ball is on the racquet by:
o Visualizing the face of the racquet following the ball after contact.
o Extending your racquet face as far into the court as possible.
· Keep the face of the racquet horizontal on contact for a solid hit and maximum topspin.
o Firm up your hold on the racquet just before making contact.
· Make sure your racquet path is either a short or long loop.
o Long loopy strokes require a lot of practice and great footwork.
o Keep the racquet head slightly below your wrist on the upswing portion of the loop.
