Nothing is more powerful than the will to succeed.
When you want to be the best, a champion, the ability to prioritize is paramount. Saying you want to be the best is not enough. You need to back it up by consistent and relentless effort. You will need to give up some activities that you enjoy in order to maximize the time you spend on your sport. People admire champions for special abilities and their willingness to practice or compete when others are partying. If you resent giving up personal time or social time to be great, you don’t deserve to be a champion. If you consider practicing or playing your sport to be a chore you have probably reached your potential. At a later stage in your life, you may even be ashamed of yourself, and rightly so.
