Here are some quick tips to help you improve your consistency and overall game.
- When the opportunity to volley a shot develops, close in and try to hit it as close to the net as possible.
- After hitting a ground stroke, recover as quickly as possible. As your opponent moves to get your shot, you should be moving in anticipation of what is going to happen next.
- Tossing a ball too high is better than a low toss. In order to have a consistent serve you need to achieve full arm extension when hitting through the ball.
- When out of position, don’t forget to use the lob. It will buy you the time necessary to get back into a more favorable position.
- Remember, consistency is the key to achieving success at the recreational level. Sacrifice power, if necessary, to keep the ball in play.
