Types of Tournaments

• Round Robin
  In a round robin tournament each participant plays a specified number of other opponents. If the player loses a match he/she still continues to play in the tournament until all other oponents in his /her group has been played. Usually the players who has won the most games from all of his/her oponents in that particular group wins the tournament. Matches in a round robin tournament are usually shortened to 8 or nine games.
  
• USTA Tournaments      
  In USTA tournaments participants only continue playing in the tournament if they win. USTA tournament matches are usually best of three sets.     
  
• Local Tournaments
  These tournaments are held in the Rhode Island area during the summer.  They are usually town, city or charity tournaments.
